My favourite band on the planet Earth, the mighty Foo Fighters, are releasing a brand new album on November 10th. Sonic Highways is set to be an album like none before, with a unique recording process and an awesome concept. Each song from the eight track LP was recorded in a different city in America, each influenced by the musical heritage and character of each city. Accompanying the release is an eight part documentary chronicling the making of each song and the regional influences that inspired it. Last Friday the band released the first episode of the Sonic Highways series as well as the first single from the album, Something From Nothing. What an EPIC track, I can't wait to hear it thundering live through a massive stadium when they play here in December for the first time. I would recommend watching the first episode of the brilliant and masterfully directed documentary series before listening to the song. Only then can you truly appreciate how special it is.
